What am I doing? I told myself that I wanted to wait until I’ve collected all my ducks and placed them in a neat row before I publish anything. But here I am, posting yet another article. The idea was, originally, to sort out and compile a bunch of articles first. Hopefully, during the process, I would get an idea of the direction I want my blog to go in. I didn’t keep to my plan. I found the article below and as with the previous one, couldn’t wait to post it. It is just that great.
If you write fantasy or medieval historical novels and your plot involves warfare, this article is a good starting premise. I found it on Mythic Scribes, which is a great place to visit if you’re into fantasy storytelling.
I believe that proper and thorough research requires a good foundation. It is usually this foundation that points you in the direction you need to go, by either streamlining your research or give you new ideas and thereby new directions. It’s preferable to floundering about looking at a bunch of data, which, on its own can be interesting, but is ultimately pointless. The article below is a fun and interesting read and makes for a good foundation.
So without further delay, please enjoy Medieval Armor – A Primer for Writers.
