I thought I’d shake things up a bit this week, given how wayward May had been and given the peculiar whispers about June. I have previously featured an artist who combines different mediums to create a hybrid type of art. Back then I stated I am not a fan of photoshopped “fantasy” save for a few exceptions. Nekro was one such exception. This week’s Art of Fantasy artist is another.
A Venezuelan graphic artist currently based in Colombia, Carlos Quevedo honed his pedigree in advertising for several years before going freelancing with a focus on book and album covers. Theology and mythology serve as twin sources of inspiration for his art which is the product of a complex design process during which he combines photographic material, traditional painting, and 3D elements to produce a hybrid work of art bursting with vibrancy and detail and so rich with symbolism you’ll stamp your heels and pay attention.
I have a few examples below for you. Enjoy!
Carlos’ style is a mix of fantasy and surrealism and that is a grand thing because it takes the awesomeness of fantasy to a whole new level of attention-grabbing mindgasm. If you want to know more about the artist or see more of his work, click here.
And that is all from me for now. Have a good weekend and I’ll see you on the other side.
Cheers!
