Who is Jorge Benedito? I don’t rightly know. I know he is from Spain and that he is the Lead Artist of a game development company, possibly MercurySteam. I know that his work on Castlevania received critical acclaim. Castlevania is a multi-generational video game series developed and published by Konami. The franchise was first released in 1986, but has evolved from a side-scrolling platformer into a full-scale adventure series – and has sold over 20 million copies worldwide.

And then I discovered an interview with the artist which appeared on the website Trazos. In Spanish. Luckily, Google Translate helped me figure out the gist of the interview and so I’m able to say that growing up during the 80s and 90s, comic books like AD 2000 and Marvel and DC comics, in general, as well as Manga and Anime, all contributed to the drive that prompted Jorge to become an artist.
