King Arthur: Legend of the Sword

A new take on the King Arthur lore. It’s different, modernized, and by the looks of it, exaggerated. I don’t know if I’ll love it but from the trailer alone I feel like I want to like it. I just hope Excalibur isn’t going to be a Mjölnir in disguise.

Synopsis:

The young Arthur runs the back streets of Londinium with his crew, not knowing his royal lineage until he draws the sword Excalibur from the stone. Instantly confronted by the sword’s influence, Arthur is forced to decide where to become involved with his power. Throwing in with the Resistance and an enigmatic young woman named Guinevere, he must learn to master the sword, face down his demons and unite the people to defeat the tyrant Vortigern — who murdered his parents and stole his crown — and become king

The movie is directed by Guy Ritchie and stars Eric Bana, Jude Law, and Charlie Hunnam as the young Arthur, and he looks ripped and ready to slaughter bad guys.

Check out the trailer below.

Let me know what you think. I love Ritchie’s movies and hope to see something special with this take on King Arthur.

Cheers!

    1. I have your review open on my laptop. I just haven’t had time to read it through and respond. I still have to see the movie and don’t want to spoil it and was deciding whether to read it or not when I saw that at least you thought it a good movie. I’ll probably read the whole review this afternoon. Ha!
