Laurel Austin grew up in small-town Canada. She was apparently thrown out of Canada for being insufficiently enthusiastic about hockey, but they were very polite about the whole thing.
Laurel began her professional career at Splash Damage in London, UK, where she designed the characters for the FPS game BRINK. This work drew from her unshakable conviction that the world would be a nicer place if more people were more intensely grizzled.
These days she spends most of her time as a Senior Illustrator in the zergling-festooned halls of Blizzard Entertainment. She enjoys living in Southern California though she regrets the lack of opportunities to practice her bear-evasion techniques.

Apart from being a talented painter, Laurel is also a talented sculptor as you can see below.
There is absolutely nothing subtle about Laurel’s work. Her paintings are vivid and vibrant and exciting, and her sculptures are in-your-face awesome.
